IUCN/SCC Otter Specialist Group Bulletin Volume 3 Pages 1 - 51 (March 1988) Obituary: Elizabeth Lenton Libby Lenton died in December. 1987. She was interested in all mammals but had a special affection for otters and was one of the first people in Britain to study them in the wild. She carried out all the field work for the 'Otter Survey of England 1977-79' and subsequently spent several years safeguarding and improving otter habitats in S.W. England. Libby was tireless in her work for conservation and, as a teacher, inspired many youngsters with her love and wide knowledge of plants and animals. She is very much missed. |
